Richard Dawson Would Like His 113 Tuxedo Shirts Back
At the time, After Six was the leading maker of formalwear in the country thanks to Samuel Rudofker, grandson of the Ukrainian tailor who founded the company in 1903. Not only did Mr. Rudofker know where formal style trends were headed back ’72, he knew how to sell them: by urging men to “make their next affair a formal affair,” as evidenced in this advertisement from the same year.
That said, we don’t know one person alive today who could wear one of these shirts, let alone 113 of them.
