The Five Things You Need from Scout

  • Najib Benouar

Our comrades-in-style at UrbanDaddy have just tipped us off to the e-comm launch of Seattle-based shop Scout.

You may know the Pacific Northwestern outfitters for their neo-rustic camping gear, but now they’re turning out handsome American-made waxed jackets and Horween-leather hiking boots—and they’ve got a vintage stock of gems like a Japanese army raincoat and a pair of French hunting trousers from the 1930s.

There’s plenty of handsome stuff to dig through, so we picked out the five standouts.»

Concealed Carry

Here’s a quick dispatch from the Pop Up Flea, opening its doors in half an hour's time. This bomber comes from Scout Original, complete with ripped-up edging and a healthy smattering of wear.

Oh, and a knife.

Don’t forget about the knife.

Thrown Together

Our friends at UrbanDaddy just turned us on to Assembly New York, a new vintage-plus boutique on the Lower East Side. Like their neighbors Black Sheep and Prodigal Sons, Assembly stocks a healthy selection of random objects to back up their more than formidable rack fodder. Our favorites include a ram-shaped bolo tie, four-eyed Chinese masks (an artifact of an earlier time, we’re sure), and enormous (but surprisingly sturdy) vintage corkscrews.
