I’m On the Phone

Print magazines have been having a pretty rough year, but by our lights, the glossy-pic-and-glossy-ad formula still has some life left in it. Especially if you’ve got an iPhone.

A high-fashion aggregator called Distill just launched their third issue and their first foray into the world of mobile magazining, currently available for a comparatively steep $5 in the iTunes shop. Inside, you’ll find a bundle of editorial wisdom drawn from magazines like Vice, Interview and Acne Paper, along with ads from Swatch, who’s footing the bill. The business side is still a little bit murky, but if it pays off, you may be getting a lot more of your style wisdom on the go.

Of course, we’ll always have a sentimental weakness for blogs…

Though we haven't reviewed the mag in its entirety, the outlook is good for the Style Guy's first fully revamped issue of *Interview* (September), which is about to hit newsstands. We should have known Ye Olde O'Brien would make things a lot more interesting.

In lieu of the endless fawning profiles of Elton John that cluttered up the pages under the previous regime, we now have full frontal nudes of Kate Moss. The snap here, by fashion photog duo Mert and Marcus, accompanies an interview penned by—you guessed it—Glenn O'Brien.

Because what's the good of being editor if you can't grab all the plum assignments for yourself?

The trademark leer, the thumbs up, her rather addled expression - we have to ask: is the prince of pervy photogs getting his hooks into *Top Chef* temptress Padma Lakshmi? We spotted the unlikely pair looking cozy at Interview magazine's party celebrating the soon-to-be-extinct Polaroid at Delicatessen the other night.
