Kempt Man of the Hour: Wass Stevens
*Photographed by our fearless lensman, Patrick McMullan.*
At Marquee these days where he mans the velvet rope he’s known simply as the “The Hammer,” but anyone who’s frequented NYC hotspots for the past decade recognizes Wass Stevens as one of the most provocatively-dressed dudes wherever he happens to be. An actor by day with a burgeoning CV, the former boxer and assistant district attorney favors the custom creations of Ron & Ron, which combine “class with a hint of rogue”, mixed in with select A-list label pieces.
At Marquee’s Fourth Anniversary bash the other night, Stevens sported a bitchin’ black-on-black patterned velvet one-button dinner jacket with piqué facings from Yves Saint Laurent, a black and silver figured Brioni tie, and a custom made black wing-collar shirt and slim black evening trousers from Ron & Ron, capped off with a pair of black Prada boots. While you’re pondering the sheer audacity of his ensemble, check out the hilarious Tribeca Film Festival trailer on Wass’ website, in which a cops and gangsters shoot-out devolves into a discussion of the amuse bouche at Per Se. Priceless.
