One thing we always look forward to during Fashion Week is the daily appearance of Hamish Bowles, *Vogue*‘s European editor-at-large — not to mention an impeccably-plumed peacock who was one of our original MOTHs.

It was hard to choose between all the outfits Bowles, author of the instant classic *Vogue Living: Houses, Gardens, People*, busted out over the course of the week, but we settled on this setup from a book bash at Bergdorf Goodman. Bowles’ outfit was a dashing dove-gray single-breasted peak-lapel suit by Calvin Klein, worn with a geometrical shirt and tie combo one doesn’t come across every day, and for good reason: Bowles acquired them from a very old-fashioned men’s store near the Nile in Cairo called *Swellam*—no doubt Egyptian for dandy.

Oh, and that’s a black cashmere Dolce & Gabbana coat slug over his arm, in case you were wondering.
