Kempt Man of the Hour: Cameron Silver
Somehow, we managed to get through all of awards season without seeing a genuinely awesome tuxedo. To be honest, we’re not sure how it happened, but luckily last night’s Met Ball was able to correct the situation.
The gentleman here (who may look familiar) is Cameron Silver of LA’s Decades, one of the more beloved vintage purveyors on the west coast. So beloved, in fact, that he managed to convince the folks at 3.1 Philip Lim to whip him up a custom version of their double breasted tuxedo shirt-jacket—you know, that thing on his chest that looks suspiciously like a cardigan. Throw in some double-pleated pants that are two trend cycles ahead of the rest of the city, and you’ve got quite an outfit on your hands. As tuxedos go, it’s a bit of a head trip, but from a pro like Silver, we expect nothing less.
