The Emmys are this Sunday, and it’s one stylish lineup of nominees for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

So this Tuesday we thought we’d take a closer look at the watches worn by each of the characters they play…

081914_Emmys-Timepiece-Cranston-2Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad, is an interesting case: he begins the series with an expectedly nerdy calculator watch (shown here) but then upgrades to a bold, square-faced Tag Heuer Monaco, shown above (incidentally, a very nice birthday gift from his partner in crime).

HOUSE OF CARDSFrank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey in House of Cards, has the sort of high-pedigree watch you’d expect from a calculated political climber: an IWC Portuguese.

081914_Emmys-Timepiece-DraperDon Draper, played by Jon Hamm in Mad Men, has been a real watch horse over the past six seasons—wearing a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, a Memovox, then a Rolex Explorer, and in Season 7: an Omega Seamaster DeVille. Fifty years later and that reads like any budding watch collector’s dream list.

081914_Emmys-Timepiece-NewsroomWill McAvoy, played by Jeff Daniels in The Newsroom, wears a Breguet Classique worthy of his marquee status.

081914_Emmys-Timepiece-McConaugheyRust Cohle, played by Matthew McConaughey in True Detective, wears an old rubber-strapped dive watch from Seiko sub-brand Lorus. (Which he probably picked up around the same time as the Big Hug Mug.)

081914_Emmys-Timepiece-WoodyMartin Hart, played by Woody Harrelson in True Detective, wears an older model as well: a vintage Hamilton Jazzmaster with small seconds.
