Some New Old Sunglasses
Here we are. Wet hot American summer, day one. First order of business: shades. This won’t be our last recommendation for the bright summer to come, but a good place to start would be the old-school opticians over at Shuron. They’ve been making spectacles for Americans since the late 1800s (when people were still calling them spectacles), and they’ve just released a new iteration of their classic Freeway glasses, the Freeway 2012, with opaque frames in root beer and lenses in a green bottle tint. It’s a retro look for sure—something we’d imagine Truman Capote wearing poolside while “writing” at his Hamptons hideaway…
But that’s how you planned on spending your summer anyhow.
