Some say Slim Aarons was a terrible snob. The lanky lensman once declared he was only really interested in photographing “attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places.”
But you know what? That’s all we usually feel like looking at. Slim wasn’t a snob so much as a man who understood what people wanted, and had the taste and *savoir faire* to find it for them. A new and perhaps final (he died last year) collection of his vintage photographs -which have inspired the likes of Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors—is just out from Abrams.
*Poolside With Slim Aarons*, as you might infer from the title, features nothing but beautiful people lounging picturesquely by azure oases from Monte Carlo to Mexico. And that’s just fine with us.
