Commemorative pieces never live up to the real deal.
Which is why we’re happy to see that Omega has finally decided to release the exact same watch James Bond will have on his wrist in the upcoming
Spectre instead of going the commemorative route—this marks the first time they’ve done so in their 20-year tenure as Bond’s official watch supplier.
Plus they’ve upped the Bond-ness by throwing the
Omega Seamaster 300 Co-Axial “Spectre” on a NATO strap reminiscent of the one worn in 1962’s Dr. No.
And the superlatives don’t stop there, so let’s take a closer look...
Omega dug into the archives for this watch, basing it on their dive watches from the 1950s. But instead of an arrow-shaped hand, the “Spectre” gets a lollipop-style second hand.
Most importantly, the watch can actually function as a dive watch, with a rotating bezel and an Omega Master Co-Axial movement.
A few more Bond touches include the case back and buckles stamped with the 007 logo. And they’re making them in a limited run of only 7,007.
And just like Bond, you’ll have to edit in the laser shooter and rappelling wire in post as well.
