The Stat Sheet: The Vanson x The Hill-side Rider Jacket
- Eric Twardzik
It’s finally starting to feel like summer, and you’re... probably not thinking about leather jackets at all. But you should be. Because Boston’s Wilderness Workshop just played menswear matchmaker between Vanson Leathers and The Hill-side to produce just 12 of these eye-popping, fabric-lined biker jackets.
Here’s what else you need to know:
The Story: Vanson’s been making formidable leather things beloved by bikers and state troopers alike for a long time. And now some genius decided to remake their C2 biker jacket in butter-soft navy leather, and line it with a near-psychedelic floral print from The Hill-side’s stash of Japanese fabric. Well done, genius.
Who to Channel: Marlon Brando in The Wild One; a particularly style-conscious motorcycle cop; a new incarnation of the Terminator with a soft spot for floral patterns.
When to Wear It: Not anytime soon. Unless you find yourself on a particularly windy stretch of road on something with two wheels and no roof.
Degree of Difficulty: Difficult. It takes a certain degree of toughness to pull off the biker jacket; another degree to pull it off with Technicolor flora.
And Now for Your Moment of Inspiration:
