The Kempt 100 Invests in Cash
- Kempt Staff
The Kempt 100 is our definitive list of the 100 best-dressed men of the past 100 years.
If there’s one thing to be gleaned from our next batch of Kempt 100 Legends, it’s this: speak softly and carry a big... guitar. Yep, four of the next five plucked the six-string for a living. And the other guy, well... let’s just say he didn’t have any problem with groupies either... 25. Albert Hammond Jr. The takeaway: A controversial inclusion? Sure. But more than anyone else (possible exception: his bandmate Mr. Casablancas), AHJ rescued rock and roll from its late-’90s doldrums and made it cool again to rock a suit, wail on a guitar and bang the occasional model. And frankly, that’s a world we want to live in.
24. George Harrison The takeaway: And now, one of the original suit-wearer/guitar-strummer/model-bangers. Pictured here in what professionals call “zany pants,” which we could see making a comeback in a year or two.
23. Johnny Cash The takeaway: Find your color. Stick to it.
22. Sam Cooke The takeaway: Being the picture of pure class is a head-to-toe thing.
21. Errol Flynn The takeaway: Swagger is probably a thing you’re born with, rather than something you can learn. That said, it wouldn’t hurt to study this guy.
