The Brands of Yoox

Yoox kicked off their semi-annual sale this week, and it’s definitely worth a look. But in case you aren’t in the mood to sift through a thousand-plus specimens of avant-Italian menswear, we’ve put together a little guide on the names to look for. You may want to bookmark this one…

Our favorite brands at Yoox…

Aquascutum This one’s exactly what you should be looking for at sales: a beloved heritage brand selling down-the-line staples that just happen to be severely marked down. We can’t vouch for the bowties, but any of these trench coats will be unimpeachable.

Tretorn These Swedes make some of our favorite summer sneakers—most of which are going for $30 a pop here. Of course, they’ll probably be sitting in a shoebox under your bed for the next few months…but April’s closer than you think.

Incotex This Italian marque is known for one of the best wool trousers in the world, but they also make a damn good chino. Their stock here is a little more colorful than we’re used to seeing outside of Miami, but a brave soul should be able to find something useful in there.

Corneliani Sometimes, you just want down-the-line Italian menswear. There are a few good blazers here—and at least one classic $30 tie—but for the most part it’s the kind of dress shirt that looks good under a suit, with semi-spread collars wide enough to accommodate the widest tie in your closet.

Maison Martin Margiela This is what most people come to Yoox for: unstructured blazers and suits, possibly the double-breasted kind. Margiela’s toned down a bit in recent years, as their namesake has faded into the background, but that just means more muted tones and more wearable designs. In short, good news.
