Lightning Round: The Yoox Sample Sale
Yoox can be a crap shoot.
The Italian sale site is roughly a T.J. Maxx for the Dolce & Gabbana set, which means it’s the best place in the world to find an Etro suit for $325. Kiton Tie, $78One of the best silk ties in the world, marked down to sub-Ralph levels. It’s the kind of wide, lustrous neckwear you don’t find much stateside, where sevenfolds are thin on the ground—but it’s always in style in Italy.
Noodle Park Parka, $42A parka from the cult Japanese raingear label, for less than the price of a bowtie. This is as sharp as bright red nylon will ever look.
Marc Jacobs Velvet Blazer, $285>This one’s going to go straight into summer storage (that’s sample sale-ing for you), but the velvet blazer might be the most underrated item in the menswear game. It’s more West Village than Napoli, but still a pretty sharp example of the form.
Piombo Overcoat, $260We’re in the off-season for overcoats too, but this is still well worth picking up. The classic buttons, natural shoulders and gently curving lapels here are perfect examples of why guys fall in love with Italian menswear.
Brunello Cucinelli Flannel Smoking Jacket, $880To be fair, the chances of you actually needing a formal gray smoking jacket are pretty low. But if you needed something for your footman to wear…
