Look sharp, men, the competition is heating up—we have our second repeat MOTH on the heels of Daniel Day-Lewis' landmark victory last week. The first time around, dandified Los Angeles-based vintage clothing mogul Cameron Silver caught our attention with a green velvet Gucci suit and custom croc loafers. At the Art of Elysium benefit gala in L.A. the other night he went one better in a custom-made toile dinner jacket that blew the lid off the staid black tie crowd.

The shawl collared black-and-white number with satin facing was made for him by Parisian-based designer Cecile Christy, who learned the ropes in Karl Lagerfeld's studio; the only other example extant is in a museum. He wore it with a custom Charvet shirt and bow tie, Viktor & Rolf tuxedo trousers and patent leather Pierre Hardy shoes with gold piping.

Silver is predicting toile will be the coming thing in menswear; it may be a self-fulfilling prophecy as he plans to wear the jacket to another shindig in Paris next week, where the fashion-savvy press is sure to pick up on it. And just wait till Dandyism gets a load of this.
