Kempt Man of the Hour: Guy Pearce

We've admired British-born, Aussie-raised actor Guy Pearce ever since 1997's brilliant *L.A. Confidential*, easily one of our favorite flicks of all time. An understated sort of fellow, we've never really paid much attention to his attire, but at the premiere of his new terrorist-CIA caper *Traitor* the other night, he caught our eye for pulling off the all-black look with a verve we haven't seen since the unpredictable Mr. Cumming sported a similar set-up last March.
As befits his personal style, Pearce's monochromatic scheme, consisting of a perfectly-tailored suit, shirt and tie, had more of a matte finish as opposed to the glossy sheen of Cumming's clothes. And whereas Cumming opted for a Mephistophelean beard to elevate the look above the commonplace, Pearce upped the sophistication factor with a pair of black-framed specs of a somewhat scholarly aspect that struck just the right sartorial note without becoming funereal. Trust us, this is a lot harder than it looks.
