Every Wednesday, we’re giving you a deeper look into what makes the minds behind Kempt tick. We call it: The Kempt Five.

0219KMT_Five_1The Aether Space Hoodie. “As we may have mentioned a time or two (or 300), it’s been a brutal winter. And as we may have mentioned a time or two (or 300), we dig the stuff Aether puts out. Well, this hoodie, which I’ve had for a couple years, was the perfect example of Aether outmuscling this winter. I dug it out recently after a bout of peacoat fatigue and was happy to rediscover that even though it’s light and uncumbersome, it’s still warm as hell. A friend picked up an Aether windbreaker on our recommendation and reports the same experience. Warmer days are ahead, but you might want to pick up one of these for the inevitable cold spring rains…” —P.L.U.

0219KMT_Five_2Emmett’s Deep-Dish Pizza. “Deep dish. In New York City. It’s legit. Get some… now.” —P.L.U.

0219KMT_Five_3Robin Wright. “There’s only one way to describe the then-dainty Princess Bride actress in her role as Claire Underwood in House of Cards: badass. She’s further proof that some things really do get better with age.” —S.P.

0219KMT_Five_4The Unexpected Work Satchel. “On my way up to the office Monday, I shared an elevator with a guy carrying this vintage doctor bag as a briefcase (pictured above, please forgive haphazard photography). It was just the right kind of worn in, and a great talking piece. Bonus: doubles as a weekend bag.” —C.G.

0219KMT_five_5Beck, Morning Phase. “His 12th album isn’t officially dropping until next Tuesday, but NPR has it streaming as of Sunday. It’s lovely: dreamy and melodic dotted with upbeat rhythmic moments, it’s already fixing to be my soundtrack for spring.” —C.G.
